Prologue: The Hero, Doting on the Demon Lord

Translation: Lovable Translation

"Cecily, what would you like to eat? Would you prefer cake, or something as soft and cute as a marshmallow like you, Cecily~?"

"It's Cecilia. I don't particularly have a preference."

Today, in the hero's home, such cheerful conversation continued—.

Demon Lord, Cecilia Frosty.

She was drowning in the overwhelming affection from Oliver, who was the hero—a love deeper than the ocean's depths.

Her gray eyes, tinged with a hint of blue like dawn, did not reflect Oliver. Her golden hair was arranged in three loose braids, playing at her fingertips.

Though he had gone to the demon lord's castle with the intention of subduing her, he somehow ended up abducting her to his own residence and locking her up. The hero's love for the demon lord had reached such an extent.

Cecilia's calm and composed demeanor revealed her rejection of the hero.

She repeated that she didn't need anything and shook her head. Her damp, sleepy eyes seemed to indicate disinterest in everything.

Cecilia sat on the plush, soft sofa, placing a book on her lap. Using reading as an excuse, she emitted an aura of rejecting any conversation.

However, whether that intention was fully conveyed or not, Oliver's smile deepened. He slowly knelt in front of her and tilted his head in inquiry.

"Aren't you hungry yet? In that case, how about we go shopping together?"

"...I'm reading, so you don't need to worry about me."

Cecilia flipped through the book with drowsy eyes.

Her petite 152-centimeter figure easily ignited Oliver's protective instincts. He couldn't help but think he must protect her.

Loose-fitting clothing and cropped pants. Even her partially visible thighs were so cute~ The hero's thought process today was still quite frivolous.

Feeling lonely at her cold reply, Oliver made tea for Cecilia as she continued reading.

Although she said she didn't need anything, he hadn't forgotten to prepare cookies as well. Cecilia might say she won't eat them, but she would still reach out for what he prepared.

However, Oliver's thoughts didn't last long.

There was a commotion around the residence. Clanging metallic sounds, nothing but a nuisance to the neighbors. This situation made Oliver sigh and mutter, "Is it happening again?"

"When will they finally give up?"

"As long as you release me, it should end, right?"

"Well, I can't accept that."

"............"

In a relaxed manner, similar to taking a stroll nearby, Oliver smiled at Cecilia and said, "I'm going out for a bit." His blue eyes seemed to convey, "I'll be right back, wait for me."

Inserting his beloved sword, which was leaning against the wall, into his waist, Oliver leisurely left the room.

"...Sigh."

Alone in the room, Cecilia let out a quiet sigh. She sat on the couch, hugging her knees and resting her head on them. She actually quite liked this sitting posture, but whenever Oliver was around, she couldn't sit like that because he would stare at her intensely.

Despite Cecilia's lack of interest in anything, she still had a sense of shame.

Peeking out the window slightly, she could see numerous soldiers. They were dispatched from the royal castle to capture Cecilia, who was the demon lord, and subdue her as ordered by the king.

However, it was Oliver, the hero, who obstructed them. This was because he was deeply in love with Cecilia.

Normally, he would become the hero of this world after defeating the demon lord. However, he ended up helping the demon lord instead, even bringing her back home—! Therefore, she couldn't find anything funny about the situation.

The team members assembled to subdue the demon lord were surprised and naturally wanted to stop him.

But—no matter who it was, even if only for a short time, no one could match the power of Oliver, the hero.

Hugging herself tightly, Cecilia closed her eyes gently. Her mind pondered why things had turned out this way.

"What does the hero want to do with me...? Does he intend to use me for something?"

Oliver, who fell in love at first sight and brought the demon lord Cecilia back home, regretfully—his longing feelings hadn't been conveyed to her.

To be precise, it could be said that while they were conveyed, they weren't believed.

Cecilia tilted her head and murmured, "Hmm—," as she contemplated the possibilities.

"Perhaps as a sacrifice for some ritual, or something like that. I am the demon lord, so I'm surely suitable as a summoning medium."

Although she had been defeated in battle against the hero Oliver, Cecilia was quite powerful. Aside from her slowness, she had a formidable magical power, and her intellect was exceptional.

She had the strength to not disgrace the title of demon lord.

"I have a lot of utility."

However, leaving aside the fact that the hero took her away, she couldn't quite understand why he would keep her in his home. It should have been enough to use her quickly, but he didn't lay a finger on her.

He was probably waiting for the right opportunity, but Cecilia couldn't grasp it. Naturally, Oliver was only drowning in his affection for her, so that opportunity would never come.

"............"

—It might be better to just end it by killing herself.

That way, these uneasy days could come to an end.

The hero treated her with kindness and indulgence, as if he had some intention. He must be thinking of doing something excessive one day, which is probably why he's trying to tame her now.

"After all, the possibility of using me as a live sacrifice seems more likely..."

Cecilia's melodious voice reached a conclusion, but unfortunately, it didn't reach Oliver.

If it had, he would probably say something cute like, "I would never use you as a live sacrifice. I love you so much!" and list those overly sweet lines that make people cringe.

However, the person saying those words was outside the residence.

With soldiers, a battle against humans began with a loud boom. A hundred soldiers against Oliver. His brave figure, tirelessly taking down soldiers without showing any weaknesses, could be seen through the window. However, unfortunately, the demon lord he loved didn't seem interested in watching.

Inside the room, the only sound was the gentle flipping of book pages.

However, the tea and cookies on the table were slightly diminished.
